Permanent opportunity for an experienced Senior Theatre Technician to lead the team across live performances & events.
Liaise with touring companies around production requirements across audio, visual, sound, and lighting equipment.
Exceptional knowledge of theatre / venue practices & WHS required

As the Technical Team leader you’ll play a key role in ensuring the venues deliver outstanding productions, events and community experiences. You’ll lead a small technical team, manage equipment and infrastructure, and work closely with clients, visiting companies and in-house staff to bring events to life.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and rostering the technical team with a focus on safety, compliance and high-quality service.
Operating audio, lighting, staging and vision systems for live shows, conferences and events.
Coordinating technical requirements, set-ups and pack-downs.
Managing budgets, costings and technical estimates.
Maintaining venue equipment and infrastructure to industry standards.
Overseeing inductions, risk management and WHS practices.
About You
We’re looking for a strong team leader with hands-on technical expertise in live performance and event production. You’ll enjoy the variety of working across performances, conferences and civic functions, and be confident in supervising staff and ensuring smooth technical delivery.
Essential skills and experience:
Demonstrated experience in a similar technical or production leadership role.
Strong knowledge of audio, lighting, AV and staging systems.
Sound understanding of Work Health & Safety, risk management and compliance in event/venue environments.
Experience supervising, training and rostering staff.
Excellent communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
Working at heights accreditation.
Relevant qualifications in technical production or project management.
Other requirements:
Current Class C driver’s licence.
First Aid Certificate.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Experience in local government or regional venue (desirable)
