About the position

Council’s Family Health Support Services Department is looking for a full-time Team Leader who is passionate and experienced early childhood professional, and ready to the deliver high-quality, inclusive, and innovative early learning programs in our long day care service in Frankston North.

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring excellence in educational practice, compliance, and staff leadership. You will foster a collaborative and supportive environment that promotes the wellbeing and development of children, families, and staff.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant early learning programs.
  • Manage staffing including recruitment, induction, rostering, performance, and professional development.
  • Promote a positive team culture that values diversity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee financial and administrative operations of the centre.
  • Build strong relationships with families, staff, co-located services, and the wider community.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop strategies to maximise enrolments and occupancy.

About you

  • Minimum Diploma-level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, and substantial experience managing a child care service and leading a large team of educators.
  • Proven leadership in early childhood settings
  • Deep knowledge of National Law, Regulations, National Quality Framework, and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
  • Strong compliance and child safety focus
  • Financial and administrative management expertise
  • Ability to mentor teams and foster a positive culture
  • Experience supporting vulnerable children and families
  • Proficiency in relevant IT systems and processes

This position is a Band 6 currently remunerated at $100,338.66 per annum, plus overtime and superannuation.
