DMC Recruitment is thrilled to be partnering with a leading education provider in their search for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. Our client is a large and complex business and thus this role provides an excellent opportunity to continue developing both technical and stakeholder management skills within a fast-paced and exciting organisation.

This role will also have leadership responsibilities tied into it with overseeing junior team members directly providing an opportunity to gain people management experience. Prior mentorship or oversight of junior team members would be advantageous here but direct management experience is not required.

Our client operates 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, providing good levels of flexibility for their team.

In this role you will;

• Lead and mentor Financial Accountants, providing oversight and reviewing their work
• Own month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy across journals, reconciliations, accruals, and allocations.
• Deliver insightful reporting and analysis for review by senior management
• Partner with a range of stakeholders across various entities, providing advice and clarity on different matter
• Ensure finance policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements are consistently applied.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and work on various ad hoc projects
  
  

Key skills that we're looking for;

• CA/CPA qualification
• Strong background in financial reporting and control within medium to large sized organisations
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience in mentoring, overseeing or developing juniors
• Intermediate Excel and financial systems skills
• Good communication skills with an ability to work with various stakeholders
