- Permanent Full-Time, Part-time or Casual Job Opportunities Available – up to 38 hours per week!
- Attractive salary ranging from $1,075.75 up to $1,286.40 (permanent work). Casuals receive $35.39 up to $42.32 per hour (Including 25% leave loading).
- PLUS retention payments under the Local Government Splinter Award – extra money paid on top of your base salary to reward your ongoing contribution to the Early Childhood Education and Care sector!
- 12% Superannuation Contribution.

Are you passionate about shaping young minds, nurturing curiosity, and making a real difference in the lives of children every day? Join our dedicated team at Gwydir Daycare and Preschool, where we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn through play.
As a Childcare Assistant, you’ll play a hands-on role in creating a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. Working alongside experienced educators, you’ll help deliver engaging educational programs, support children’s daily routines, and build strong, trusted relationships with families.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in delivering fun, play-based learning experiences that support each child’s growth and curiosity
Create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where children feel secure and confident
Partner with families and educators to support each child’s wellbeing and development
Celebrate milestones, document learning, and help children explore the world around them
Be part of a passionate, professional team that values teamwork, creativity, and compassion

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
A genuine love for working with children and a desire to inspire the next generation
Completed or actively working towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
Prior experience working with young children (8 weeks to 5 years) and the ability to relate to each child in a positive, caring, and responsive way
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with both children and adults
Effective organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
Demonstrated ability to assist in developing creative and stimulating programs based on children’s interests and needs
Commitment to child safety, inclusion, and continuous professional learning
Current or willingness to obtain:
NSW Working With Children Check Clearance
HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (including Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training).
Ability to provide and maintain evidence of current immunisation for Whooping Cough (Pertussis), Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Chickenpox (Varicella), Hepatitis A and B, and Seasonal Influenza
