About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Level 2 or 3 Rope Access Technician to join our team full-time. This is a dual-role position:
Primary: Perform rope access tasks (painting, repairs, cleaning, etc.) as part of a two-person in-house team.
Secondary (when not on ropes): Act as our internal Safety Officer, assisting with documentation, training, site visits, and helping implement and improve safety systems across our projects.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, has a genuine interest in safety practices, and wants to contribute to the continual improvement of operations in a growing company.
Key Requirements
General
Full working rights in Australia (no visa restrictions)
Able to travel to different job sites across Sydney and interstate
Willingness to work both on ropes and off ropes
Strong English communication skills – written and verbal
Proactive and solutions-focused attitude
Technical & Rope Access
IRATA or ARAA Level 2 or 3 certification
Comfortable working on ropes doing hands-on tasks: painting, concrete repairs, general cleaning, etc.
Experience with power ascenders or willingness to use and train others on them
Prior experience supervising or leading small teams is desirable
Safety Officer Function (Off-Rope)
Computer literacy – confident using Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive) and navigating safety-related platforms and portals
Strong writing skills – able to contribute to or produce:
SWMS
Toolbox talks
Site audit reports
Safety observations or incident reports
Willingness to conduct site visits, report findings, provide feedback to subcontractors (ASPs), and assist with safety coaching
Previous safety experience is a major plus, but not essential if the candidate is genuinely interested in safety and willing to learn
Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)
White Card (Mandatory – or willing to obtain before starting)
Safety certifications (e.g., Cert IV WHS, Safety Spotter, First Aid)
Familiarity with painting systems, remedial repairs, or facade access planning
Remuneration
$95k – $115k + super based on experience and open to negotiation.
Car allowance for fuel and tolls, work phone, sim, and laptop.
Help us achieve our 2026 goal of becoming a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering nationally accredited courses such as First Aid, Ladder Use, Confined Space Entry, Chemical Handling, and Safe Equipment Use. We will also with your support further develop and offer a suite of non-accredited courses, including but not limited to PEARS®, SkyPod®, Paintlab®, Anchor Installation, Rope Management, and Barricading.
