We are seeking a Wastewater Operator to work out of our McGraths Hill site

Monday – Thursday 6am – 3pm

Commencing soon after identified as suitable and/or as soon as current notice period is finalised

Purpose of position:

To undertake operational and maintenance works for a sewerage plant and plant grounds

Key Accountabilities

Under the direction of the Supervisor wastewater undertake maintenance and operational activities for the South Windsor Treatment plant

Ensure wastewater operations and maintenance works are carried out in accordance with relevant codes, practices and requirements of statutory bodies and Council’s Environmental Management System

Undertake all duties in accordance with requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act

Maintain a high level of liaison, teamwork and communication with the Supervisor Wastewater

Key Duties

Maintenance of yard, including lawn and garden care.

Maintenance of equipment as instructed, e.g. hosing off dirty equipment

Record all wastewater operational and maintenance activities

Compliance with WHS requirements and instructions

Maintain the plants and vehicles in a neat and tidy condition

Other duties as directed by Supervisor wastewater that is within the scope of your skills, competence and training.

Essential Criteria

School Certificate

(White card) WHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW

Manual work experience

Aptitude in the maintenance of mechanical equipment

Experience in maintenance and operational activities

Office computer skills (desirable)

Personal Attributes

Willingness to have tetanus, Hep A and Hep B vaccination

Physically fit to undertake manual duties

Knowledge in use of general tools and equipment

Ability to work in a team

Good communication skills

Ability to work without direct supervision
