We are seeking exceptional Early Childhood Teachers to join our Early Learning Centre team as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, commencing in Term 1, 2026.

This role would suit motivated teachers, with strong knowledge of the National Quality Standard (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) who are dedicated to developing a love of learning in their students. Strong verbal and digital communication skills are a must to thrive in our busy school environment. With our low turnover, staff at our school have years of targeted professional development behind them to meet the needs of our students. New staff will be supported to up-skill over time and a willingness to learn, grow and collaborate with our small team is essential.

At PVS we understand the importance of play to children’s development. Suitable applicants will work diligently to ensure students are given the opportunity to engage in child led play as well as intentional play designed to practice skills. The play at PVS is organised in a developmentally appropriate way with our youngest learners playing frequently, with student-guided play as well as teacher-initiated play embedded in their programs. It is essential that our educators understand the importance of creating highly engaging learning experiences and value finding fun in class with their students.

The focus for our youngest learners always remains on imagination, play, social skills, emotional regulation and listening skills as they discover the world with us. In our ELC teachers also embed the beginnings of evidence-based programs used in the Primary school including PLD synthetic phonics program, Talk for Writing and Dr Paul Swan mathematics resources. Applicants with a willingness to learn and no experience with these programs are welcome to apply.

Our classrooms cater for a range of students with diverse learning needs and cultures. We follow a response to intervention model to ensure our student’s progress, embed trauma informed practices and use a restorative justice approach to behaviour management. Our Early Childhood team work closely with their team and families to ensure early intervention is occurring for students who require extra supports. An understanding of developmental milestones and avenues for support is essential. Teachers with strong knowledge of creating safe spaces in classrooms, catering for students with diverse needs, creating a culturally safe environment, and building positive relationships with students and families are encouraged to apply.

Our school follows research-based strategies to improve student performance. Suitable applicants will be committed to developing their knowledge of evidence-based strategies to enhance student achievement, including knowledge of high impact teaching strategies and the Science of Reading. We are a multi-age grouping school and our primary classroom configurations are all multi-age.

As a small school we value hiring staff with a range of experience, so they can share their expertise in certain areas with our team. All applicants must have highly reflective teaching practices which are committed to evidence-based decision making.
