Heavymech Pty Ltd is a specialist fabrication and general engineering business established in 1968 with workshops in South Australia and Mount Isa. Our Whyalla-based workshop is looking for a Boilermaker/Welder to work alongside a tight-knit team, supporting local industry with quality fabrication and welding.

Responsibilities include:

Read and interpret engineering drawings/specs; choose the right welding method.

Set up, align and weld components (manual/semi-automatic) in various positions and techniques.

Prepare, cut, shape and finish materials to spec; test/inspect welds and assemble components.

Assist in the supervision and mentoring of junior welders/fabricators.

Maintain welding equipment and uphold housekeeping and WHS standards

About You

Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication or 5+ years’ proven welding experience (mandatory).

Ability to work from drawings, problem-solve and operate safely with minimal supervision.

Positive attitude with strong teamwork and communication.

AS1796 welding certifications (Highly regarded)

Forklift Licence (Preferred)

Successful candidates will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
