A large Federal Government Department at the forefront of protecting Australia's national security interests is seeking an APS5/6 Personnel Security Vetting Officer, initially to be engaged on a 12-month Labour Hire contract.
Your new role
This is an opportunity to contribute by ensuring the integrity of personnel within one of the countries most significant departments.
- Conduct security vetting assessments in line with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and department procedures.
- Utilise department systems and case management tools to manage clearance cases.
- Provide clear, well-reasoned advice on clearance outcomes and respond constructively to feedback.
- Undertake complex assessments and produce high-quality documentation.
- Manage a Quality Assurance (QA) caseload, including collaboration with external service providers.
- Prioritise and manage a high volume of work within tight deadlines.
- Support administrative functions such as inbox management and change of circumstance assessments.
- Work from an office-based location.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience in a similar security-focussed role in a government environment
- Knowledge of the PSPF, AGSVA Process and systems
- Well-developed communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage competing priorities
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, including with colleagues, customers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Maintains a professional approach and high level of confidentiality.
- Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security)
- You must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain government Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Clearance.
