Public Law Lawyer or Associate

About the role:

Your day-to-day will involve:

• Document Review & Legal Advice: Advise clients on subpoenaed documents, identifying Legal Professional Privilege, Public Interest Immunity, and related risks.
• Serious Offender Act Applications: Prepare documents for assessors, draft chronologies, submissions, orders, and assist in preparation for hearings.
• Representation: Represent clients in coronial inquests and court proceedings.
• Coronial Inquests & Investigations: Review coronial briefs, draft statements, prepare written advice, confer with witnesses, and instruct at inquests.
• Historical Sexual Abuse Claims: Assist with preparation for mediations and court hearings, review reports, and conduct discovery.
• Litigation Management: Conduct litigation files, review evidence, and provide advice on criminal and disciplinary proceedings.

The ideal candidate:

• At least 1 years’ PQE with a demonstrable desire to work in Public Law and Litigation.
• Experience or knowledge of prosecutions or criminal procedure is highly desirable.
