A national mechanical contractor is looking for a senior-level Mechanical Engineer with a strong HVAC construction background to join their delivery team. This role isn’t about sitting in the corner doing markups - you’ll be leading from the front, working alongside Project Managers, clients, and construction teams to bring high-performance systems to life.

You’ll be one of three Engineers embedded in a 15-person construction team, backed by an experienced Engineering Manager who values autonomy, ownership, and getting things right the first time.

What you’ll be doing

Leading HVAC design and delivery across construction projects

Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior engineers

Managing end-to-end design coordination and documentation

Working closely with subcontractors, PMs and site teams

Driving value engineering and design optimisation

Attending client meetings, site inspections and commissioning stages

Taking ownership of compliance, quality and delivery outcomes

What we’re looking for

8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within HVAC contracting

Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial HVAC projects

Strong knowledge of construction methods, standards and codes

Ability to lead and influence technical outcomes

Engineering degree (Mechanical or related discipline)

CPEng or NER preferred, but not essential
