About Us:

Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation (KBHAC) is a not-for-profit Aboriginal community-controlled organisation established to help restore and reconstruct the identity, dignity and integrity of Aboriginal men who were forcibly removed from their families and put into the Kinchela Boys Home (KBH) and to address the intergenerational trauma that adversely impacts on the lives of the men’s families and descendants. KBHAC has grown exponentially to extend their support to the broader Aboriginal sector with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability programs from their offices in Sydney and Kempsey employing 40 staff.

About the Role:

We are seeking part time NDIS Support Coordinators to be responsible for:

• Support Coordination and assistance with the provision of services.
  
• Effectively manage relationships with Participants.
  
• Assisting Participants to gather formal documentation to gain access to the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).
  

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate who identifies and is accepted as a First Nations Person, and who:

• Has had experience in a NDIS Support Coordination role, with a passion for the genuine advancement of Aboriginal People.
  
• Has a comprehensive understanding of the NDIS.
  
• Has access to a roadworthy, fully insured and registered vehicle with a current NSW Driver’s license.
  
• Has a valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
  
• Is full vaccinated against Covid-19 (2 doses + 1 Booster).
  

The following attributes will be highly desirable but are not essential:

• Previous experience working within an Aboriginal Controlled Organisation.
  
• Tertiary qualifications I social services, community services, health or other relevant sectors.
  
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability, Mental Health or Individual Support.
