About the role

Individual Supported Services Pty Ltd is seeking a passionate and dedicated mature aged female Disability Support Worker to join our team in Gracemere, QLD. As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to a young lady with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD level 3) by empowering client to live independently and engage within the local community.

What you'll be doing

Assisting client with skill development and daily living tasks

Facilitating community access once rapport building has been developed

Providing emotional support and encouragement to help client achieve their personal goals

Maintaining detailed client records on commcare in line with organisational policies and procedures

Collaborating with a small management team to ensure client has received coordinated and holistic support

Promoting the rights, independence, and dignity of all client

What we're looking for

A demonstrated commitment to providing person-centred, empathetic, and high-quality support to an individual with ASD

Relevant qualifications in a disability-related field, such as a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their support networks

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

A valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle to commute to Gracemere and for community access when required

A current First Aid certificate and satisfactory police check
