Family Support Counsellor - Community Services & Development
Location: Gascoyne region, WA (FIFO)
Job Type: Part-time (0.6 FTE)
Salary: $42.20 to $48.85 per hour + benefits (meal allowance, accommodation, flights for FIFO)
About the Company
Our client is a respected leader in the community services sector, known for providing quality mental health and carer support services across metro and regional WA. They are looking for a dedicated Family Support Counsellor to support individuals and families impacted by mental health challenges in the Gascoyne region.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Family Support Counsellor to deliver counselling and support services to both adults and young people, through individual sessions and group work. Operating from a sole-worker base in Gascoyne region, you will work autonomously while receiving remote support from the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering brief interventions and therapeutic counselling
- Developing strengths-based wellbeing care plans with clients
- Facilitating workshops and support groups
- Promoting services within the community and building referral networks

What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- A tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work
- Experience in delivering client-centred counselling and support services
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a regional setting
- A current Australian Driver's Licence and Working Rights
You'll also need (or be willing to obtain):
- National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
- Working with Children Card
- Current First Aid Certificate
