Our Federal Government partner is seeking to engage up to five (5) APS4 Payroll Officers for an initial 12-month engagement. This is a fantastic opportunity for payroll professionals to provide expert advice and support, ensuring the accurate and timely provision of payroll services.
About the Role:
Payroll Officers operate within a national team responsible for administering staff salaries for the agency and shared services clients. Working independently, but as part of a team, you will perform general payroll processing, provide advice on routine payroll matters, and liaise with managers and staff to ensure salaries are paid correctly and on time.
Key Duties:
- Undertake payroll processing to maintain accurate staff records
- Maintain documentation in line with the departments record management protocols
- Assess and process salaries, leave entitlements, and payments in accordance with legislation, policy, and enterprise agreements
- Investigate and resolve payroll errors or overpayments
- Provide advice and assistance to managers, staff, and shared services clients
- Contribute to process improvements and payroll-related projects
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Payroll processing systems and relevant legislation/policies
- Experience in Enterprise Agreements highly regarded
- Accuracy and attention to details
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently or in a team
- Effective communication and stakeholder relationship skills
