The Role
Fleet Logistics Hub-North (Cairns) is responsible for the shore-based support of all home ported and visiting Fleet Units.
You will be accountable for the efficient management of budgets and purchasing under the direction of your immediate supervisor to sustain all Fleet units with the Cairns and greater Northern support region. You will be required to work as part of a waterfront focused team supporting the Officer-In-Charge FLH-N Cairns in managing the procurement budgets for FLH-N Cairns and all fleet units within the area. This will require the maintenance of financial spreadsheets, registers and associated evidence keeping within the Defence Objective environment.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in a logistic/procurement role.
- Have a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in identifying and implementing timely outcome-based solutions in logistics and sustainment.
- Enjoys working independently and also, as a team player in a dynamic team environment.
- Has strong stakeholder engagement and people skills supporting a wide variety of customers and stakeholders
- Have a good level of computer literacy, including with inventory management and administrative systems.
- Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable to the needs of the customer.
About our Team
Located in HMAS Cairns, Fleet Logistics Hub - North (Cairns) provides support to HMAS Cairns Fleet based units and visiting vessels, reporting through to OIC FLH-N in day-to-day business requirements. This is a mixture of highly experienced Australia Public Service professionals and Military officers and sailors with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
