The Team:
Peacock House opened in 2023, and focusses on providing warm, welcoming and trauma-informed care to people experiencing mental health relapse or distress. Safe Haven works closely with the peer lead services at Peacock Centre, including the Integration Hub, Peacock House and the Recovery College.
The Role:
As part of a small specialist team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy and direction and legal requirements, and relevant professional competencies, the Allied Health Professional will provide:
- Day to day clinical oversight of the service, including effective management of human and physical resources as required.
- Ongoing leadership, direction and change management to support service development and optimise potential outcomes from the endorsed Operational Service Model.
- Specialist assessments and brief interventions to individual service users.
- Information and referral to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders as required to achieve quality outcomes for service users.
You will need:
- Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage and coordinate the day to day activities and clinical care provided by a small specialist community-based team
- Demonstrated high level knowledge in relation to the principles of recovery and client centred care and a proven ability to provide a range of assessments and specialist treatments and brief interventions.
- Ability to undertake ongoing risk assessments and effectively manage the outcomes from these assessments, including escalating care when required.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association

- Holds or is working towards a relevant post graduate qualification
- Experience in community mental health settings
