This is a rare opportunity to shape something new, delivering meaningful psychological support while playing a key role in establishing and growing a service that will evolve to offer diverse career pathways and leadership opportunities.
Based out of our Midland office with flexibility to deliver sessions in-person or via telehealth, this role offers a salary of $135- $140K pro rata + Super, plus the added benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging. We welcome both part-time and full-time applicants. This role is offered as a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to extend and transition to permanency.

About the Role
As our first Psychologist at MIFWA, you’ll play a pioneering role in shaping how psychology integrates into a values-driven mental health organisation. You’ll deliver evidence-based, person-centred support while contributing to the development of a service that complements our peer-led and community-based programs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide psychological assessments and interventions to support recovery, wellbeing, and daily functioning
Deliver evidence-based therapies tailored to individual needs, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment challenges
Collaborate with peer workers, recovery coaches, families and other service providers to deliver holistic support
Contribute to co-design and service development, ensuring innovation and best practice
Maintain high-quality documentation, compliance, and professional standards
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a motivated and capable Clinical Psychologist who is ready to step into a pioneering role and help shape the future of mental health services at MIFWA. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist, with a current or eligible Medicare Provider Number
At least three years’ experience delivering psychological services
A strong understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred and recovery-focused practice
Excellent communication, clinical, and report-writing skills
The ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
A curiosity for innovation and co-design, with potential to lead and mentor others as the service grows
