The Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) provides essential corporate functions to the Northern Territory Government (NTG) under a centralised service model, enabling government agencies to focus on their core business. Information Management Services (IMS) is one of the key enterprise services and provides best practice advice and records management services to NTG client agencies. Structured into several work streams, a wide range of services are delivered, including records management, help desk services, records appraisal, sentencing and disposal, training development and delivery, and Freedom of Information.
As a Manager, Records & Information in Information Management Services, your main focus is to offer expert advice and assistance on the automation of records management processes. As part of the Information Management Services Continual Improvement team, your responsibilities include managing and delivering projects relating to business process automation around records and information management. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for innovation and implement changes that enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Key duties and responsibilities
Lead strategic initiatives in the management of information across the NTG recordkeeping environment, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and evolving business needs.
Manage and deliver complex projects within the information management stream, including planning, coordination, and execution of client-focused services. Ensure timely achievement of deliverables through effective resource and stakeholder management.
Provide specialist consultation and advisory services to client agencies and staff, offering tailored solutions to complex records and information management challenges across supported business systems and policy frameworks.
Drive continuous improvement through business analysis and process improvement. Identify opportunities for innovation and implement changes that enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Contribute to knowledge development within the records and information management function by actively engaging in problem-solving, sharing insights, and adapting to a dynamic and evolving environment
Essential Selection Criteria
Demonstrated expertise in contemporary information and records management systems, policies, standards, and practices.
Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects, balancing competing priorities and deadlines to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.
Experience in applying business process improvement and change management methodologies to drive operational efficiency and service excellence.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate systems and programs, conduct research, and develop innovative solutions to complex issues.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver advice and consultation services to stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a focus on building collaborative relationships, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering a culture of trust and respect.
A professional work ethic that reflects DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity, and respect.
