The Flinders Ranges Council invites Expressions of Interest for the following Seasonal (Fixed Term) Casual positions at the Quorn and Hawker Swimming Pools for the coming season (October 2025 through March 2026).
· Swimming Pool Coordinator (covering Hawker and Quorn)
Conditions of employment for this position will be in accordance with the Local Government Employees Award and The Flinders Ranges Council Enterprise Agreement No. 11 – 2022. The position has been classified as Grade 4 Increment 3 with an hourly rate of $40.3372 inclusive of casual loading (indicative).
· Swimming Pool Supervisors / Operator (Multiple positions operating at both Hawker & Quorn)
Conditions of employment for this position will be in accordance with the Local Government Employees Award and The Flinders Ranges Council Enterprise Agreement No. 11 – 2022. The position has been classified as Grade 4 Increment 1 with an hourly rate of $39.4197 inclusive of casual loading (indicative).
· Volunteer Swimming Pool Supervisors / Operator (Multiple required at either Hawker & Quorn)
The pools operate on weekends, weekdays and public holidays throughout the swimming season, subject to weather and other conditions.
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, the minimum qualifications of:
· Senior First Aid Certification;
· Accredited lifesaving qualifications from Royal Life Saving Society or equivalent (minimum standard Bronze Medallion);
· Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR);
· DHS Working with Children Check (the former DCSI Screening and Background Checks Certification for children & vulnerable people are valid until expiry); and
It is also desirable that applicants have:
· Pool Plant Operator’s Certificate;
· Considerable experience in the operating of water filtration and chlorination equipment, associated with a public swimming pool; and
· Experience in recreational facilities operations;
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
· Mandatory Notification Certificate (Child Safe Environment course).
It is anticipated that Council will provide Lifeguard Training (if required) subject to availability during October 2025.
