Summary:

Australian Architectural Fire Doors are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver/Storeperson. This dual role involves both the safe and efficient delivery of goods to our customers and handling various store duties as needed.

Initially employed under a casual basis on a 38 hour week, with the possibility of moving to a full-time permanent position.

Responsibilities:

Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner while adhering to schedules and adapting to traffic and weather conditions.

Safely operate and maintain delivery vehicles as well as ensuring vehicles are fuelled;

Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete and the customer is satisfied;

Assist / supervise with unloading and ensure correct goods have been received (may include heavy lifting);

Prepare hardware to be sent to site with delivery of doors;

Performing warehouse duties using tools or equipment such as forklifts;

Ensuring loads and trucks are safe and secure and handling fragile items with care;

Ensuring dispatch and surrounding areas are clean, tidy, and safe at all times;

Communicating effectively with customers and team members; and

Handling and resolving customer complaints or issues regarding delivery or services.

Requirements:

Valid MR driver's license and clean driving record.

Current HRW/Forklift ticket.

Proven experience as a Delivery Driver and/or Dispatch Worker – would be advantageous.

Strong understanding of transportation and warehouse procedures.

Ability to drive various vehicles (manual and automatic) and operate warehouse equipment.

Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items for extended periods.

Must be able to work as a team member as well as autonomously.

Good time management and organisational skills.

The ability to manage the pressure that comes with unscheduled changes and the day to day stress of dealing with active building sites; and

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous customer service experience.
