About the role

Help administer primary produce traceability requirements to maintain Tasmania’s reputation for high quality, safe produce.

  • Lead traceability projects including planning, reporting and stakeholder consultation.
  • Provide expert advice on policy application and service delivery.
  • Monitor NLIS compliance and support enforcement campaigns.
  • Draft high-level policy documents, ministerial briefs, and strategic recommendations.
  • Represent the Department in national pilots and cross-agency initiatives.
  • Manage staff training and development in traceability systems.

  • Deep understanding of traceability frameworks, regulations, and service delivery systems.
  • Proven experience in project management, policy development, and industry consultation.
  • Strong leadership and staff management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
