Secondary Mathematics/Science Teacher – Maternity Leave Position (Term 1, 2026)

Clarence Valley Anglican School (CVAS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Mathematics/Science Teacher to join our team in Term 1, 2026, This is a maternity leave position for one term with a possibility of extension. Reporting directly to the Deputy Principal, this role is responsible for meeting the academic and pastoral needs of students while supporting the school’s commitment to providing outstanding education in a supportive, future-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, program and deliver high-quality teaching and learning activities with clear learning goals.

Implement innovative, research-based strategies that foster problem-solving, collaboration, and critical/creative thinking in an ICT-rich environment.

Deliver curriculum in line with NESA syllabus and school requirements.

Maintain a safe, respectful, and secure classroom aligned with school behaviour policies.

Use formative and summative assessment strategies to provide effective feedback and improve learning outcomes.

Provide pastoral care through tutor programs, wellbeing initiatives, and regular communication with parents and carers.

Contribute to co-curricular activities such as coaching, mentoring, or tutoring.

Actively engage in professional learning and accreditation requirements.

Support the wider school community through participation in excursions, camps, meetings, and other school events.

About You

You are a dynamic educator with a passion for Mathematics and Science, and a strong commitment to student wellbeing and learning. You will bring:

Qualifications to teach up to and including Year 12 in Mathematics and/or Science.

Experience teaching at NSW Higher School Certificate level (or equivalent).

Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative, engaging, and contemporary teaching practices.

Strong ICT skills, including Google Suite, Google Classroom, Microsoft Office, and TASS.

A collaborative mindset and flexibility to work within a K–12 environment.

A commitment to the ethos of independent Anglican education.

Current Working With Children Check and First Aid/CPR qualifications.
