Workshop Trades Assistants – Mining & Drilling Equipment

Location: Malaga, Perth

About Us:
Mills Recruitment is partnering with a leading supplier of mining and drilling equipment to recruit two Workshop Trades Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable company offering competitive pay and great working conditions.

The Roles:
We are seeking two Trades Assistants with different skill sets:

Mechanical Trades Assistant

• Experience in mechanical assembly and fitting.
• Skilled in stripping down, dismantling, and reassembling engines, plant and drilling equipment.

Electronics Trades Assistant

• Basic electronics assembly or repair experience.
• Ability to assist with testing, repairs, and assembly of electronic components used in drilling and mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities (both roles):

• Assist in the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of mining and drilling equipment.
• Perform manual assembly and reassembly work in the workshop.
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move, store, and organise materials.
• Support general workshop duties while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
• Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised.

Requirements:

• Relevant hands-on experience in either mechanical or basic electronics assembly/repair.
• Previous workshop experience, ideally with mining or heavy machinery.
• Valid forklift and Dogging licenses.
• Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a proactive team.
• Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
