The Role:

We’re looking for someone who wants to take a step up into an Assistant Payroll Manager to join our clients team! In

• Prepare, process and review high-volume weekly payrolls with accuracy.
• Maintain up-to-date and confidential employee payroll records.
• Ensure compliance with EBAs, awards, tax requirements and company policies.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with audits, reconciliations, reporting and payroll data analysis.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and the Payroll Manager to ensure seamless operations.
• Take ownership of payroll tasks and provide guidance to junior payroll staff as required.

The Candidate:

• Demonstrated senior payroll experience, ideally within construction or an EBA-governed environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, EBAs and awards.
• Experience with payroll systems (Dayforce highly regarded).
• Proven ability to manage high-volume payrolls independently and as part of a team.
• High attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
