We have a rare opportunity for a passionate, warm and creative Early Childhood Teacher to join the team at Landsborough Kindergarten commencing January 2026.
This role will see you being part of a community focused team supporting local families and children. You will be working in a small, passionate team. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality educational program across our Bulla Group class. Bulla group operates 8.25am - 2.30pm Thursday, Friday and alt Wednesdays. This is a class of 22 Kindergarten aged children.
We are looking for a teacher who values a sense of community with a passion for play based learning and children's development. You must be committed to continuous improvement through a collaboration with colleagues and reflective practice. You will be independent and autonomous and work as a team with supporting educators. You'll guide and support the teaching team, modelling high-quality early childhood pedagogy. Previous experience in a similar role in community kindergarten is desirable but not essential.
Position Details
Days of Work: Thursday, Friday and alternating Wednesdays.
Hours of Work: 8am - 4.11pm.
Contact Teaching Hours: 8.25 AM – 2.30 PM. 2 hours daily non contact and prep time.
Commencing January 2026.
The successful applicant will the Responsible Person at this service on their days of work.
This role will be offered as a 12mth contract with extension to permanency after this time.
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrates the ability to build respectful partnerships with families, children's and colleagues to support each child's wellbeing, learning, development and engagement in the program.
Deliver a high-quality, inclusive early childhood education program.
Knowledge of relevant learning frameworks, such as EYLF – Early Years Learning Framework, QKLG - Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, NQF – National Quality Framework).
Engage with families through ongoing communication, meetings, and service events.
Contribute to a cohesive team environment through reflective practice.
Experience in developing Individual Education Plans and meeting with families to support inclusion.
Ability to develop and implement a play-based, child-led learning program.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with children, families, and colleagues.
Encourage meaningful family participation and community outreach.
Experience in a Responsible Person role or similar.
Essential Qualifications
ACECQA approved Bachelor's Degree of Early Childhood Education
Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
Current Child Protection Training inclusive of CPRT0025
Working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guide
Current Paid or Exemption Blue Card
Current CPR, First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training
Experience in community-run kindergartens highly desirable
Experience in a Responsible Person or Nominated Supervisor role is highly desirable.
Experience with Storypark and XAP highly regarded but not essential
What We Offer
Remuneration aligned with Landsborough Kindergarten Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
Our program follows QLD State School terms; 40 weeks of contact teaching each year. 1 week non contact set up at the start of each calendar year, 7 weeks of paid recess leave and 4 weeks of annual leave as per our EBA. 2 hours non contact time daily.
