At Chiselhurst, our purpose is to make a positive impact on children’s lives. It’s what we’ve been doing since 1940, when our centre first opened in the middle of World War II. Since then, we’ve built an exceptional reputation across Toowoomba, achieving three consecutive Exceeding ratings with the Early Childhood Education Authority.

We are now seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team in 2026. This is a permanent part-time role of 37.5 hours per fortnight (5-day fortnight – Thursday/Friday and alternate Wednesdays).

Our community kindergarten is set on beautiful, park-like grounds with natural play spaces and individual classrooms, each with its own playground. As a Lady Gowrie Affiliate Centre, we are committed to high-quality, play-based, inquiry-driven learning.

What we’re looking for:

A qualified and motivated Early Childhood Teacher

Ability to design and deliver an engaging program grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline

Skills to observe, respond to, and extend each child’s strengths while supporting self-regulation and autonomy

Commitment to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and empowered

Willingness to reflect, collaborate, and contribute to a strong teaching team

Required qualifications & certifications:

ACECQA-approved Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)

Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers

Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certification

Current Blue Card or Exemption Card

Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards
