The Team:
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and Paediatric Services within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for Paediatric patients in Tasmania. Paediatric Services crosses both local inpatient, local outpatient and Statewide services that provide care and support to children and young people under 18. Paediatric Services works closely with other members of the Women’s and Children’s Services Hospitals South team. These positions are based on the Children and Adolescent Units (K6), which are the Paediatric Inpatient Units at the RHH.
The Role:
The Registered Nurse:
- Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals.
You will need:
- Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA) Registered Nurse standards for practice.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence based practice in the practice setting.

Details of appointment:
Multiple, fixed term, part time, shift worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately twelve (12) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Location: Hobart, Tasmania
Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
