Power BI Specialist | Dashboard Optimisation | Large Utilities Organisation

• Melbourne / WFH (Hybrid)
• $900 - $1000 p/d (may be negotiable)
• 6 month contract with extensions

Primary Purpose

Bring expertise in Power BI, data architecture, and reporting optimisation to review, rationalise, and migrate a large suite of legacy dashboards. The role will ensure reporting assets are efficient, secure, and aligned to modern data platform practices.

Key Accountabilities

• Audit and rationalise 300+ existing Power BI dashboards, identifying redundant, broken, or poorly coded reports
• Optimise and re-develop dashboards to reduce compute loads and improve performance
• Work with relational databases (RDBMS) and SAP data sources to ensure data integrity and correct reporting logic
• Apply best practice in data architecture, security, and governance across reporting solutions
• Tune and troubleshoot Power BI dashboards for performance and scalability
• Provide housekeeping of Power BI projects, including migration to Microsoft Fabric where appropriate
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to prioritise reporting needs and ensure business value from reporting assets

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in Power BI development, optimisation, and performance tuning
• Strong understanding of relational databases and working with data sourced from SAP
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and modern reporting/analytics architecture
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and reporting best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to streamline complex reporting environments
