- Base Salary: $102,795 to $110,496 p.a. as per Admin 6.1- 6.4 Classification

WHO ARE WE?
Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary focus of this role is clinical care for Men's health streams across DDHS sites. Additionally, the role involves leading the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Men's Health Initiatives across all DDHS clinics, with an emphasis on improving access, integration, and culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. It also includes delivering and coordinating high-quality primary health care as the lead men's health clinician and providing strategic advice to executive and clinical leadership on emerging issues and opportunities in men's health.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Contribute to the development and implementation of DDHS's Strategic Plan and Men's Health Strategies to ensure integrated, culturally appropriate services that meet community needs.
- Support the design and rollout of innovative service models to expand men's health programs across multiple service streams (e.g., Chronic Disease, Social & Emotional Wellbeing, Population Health).
- Foster cross-program collaboration to ensure men's health considerations are embedded in service planning, health promotion, and clinical care delivery.
- Act as the first point of contact for clients, conducting health assessments, care plans, case conferencing, treatment, follow-up and referrals.
- Supply or administer medicines including vaccines for common conditions as per relevant legislation, policies, and/or as prescribed by a medical practitioner.
- Support GPs, visiting health professionals, and specialists in patient care.
- Communicate health information clearly and ensure patient, carer, and community understanding through feedback.
- Promote men's health and wellbeing through community-based engagement activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Bachelor of Nursing and/or Certificate IV in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar field.
- About Giving Vaccines (AGV) certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated understanding of Primary Health Care using standard treatment manuals.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues.
- Well-developed communication skills, including cross-cultural communication.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, independently, and with strong organisational skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office and clinical practice software
Desirable
- Experience working in a Men's Health Coordinator role.
- Experience in clinical practice or community health education programs.
- Demonstrated leadership in the development, implementation, or evaluation of men's health programs.
- Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications

EMPLOYMENT IS SUBJECT TO
- Willing to undergo a Police Check.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
- Current driver's licence.
- Current CPR certificate or the preparedness to gain one within 6 months of commencement.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or an exemption as listed on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) be submitted.
- Full rights to work in Australia.
