Preston Street IGA's award winning Deli is seeking an experienced and passionate Deli Manager to join us on a full-time basis! We are looking for a foodie with experience in retail who can lead and inspire their team and create a market leading offer for our local community.

As a department manager, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Department within the store, leading your team to deliver an exceptional fresh food offering to our customers.

The store is open 7 days a week 24 hours a day and involves some flexibility of working hours to suit the business and the successful candidate.

Tasks & duties include:

Management of financial targets

Production of high-quality take-home meals

Preparation of fresh, healthy salads, sandwiches/rolls and other food offerings

Overseeing a team of deli staff including rostering

Inventory & stock management

Requirements & attributes:

Prior experience with people management & leadership

Minimum 1-2 years of people management and leadership experience required

Previous retail department manager experience is essential

Minimum 1-2 years of retail department manager experience required

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to manage financial targets

Sound inventory management skills (ordering, stock management, monitoring price changes)

A team player and motivational leader

Flexible working arrangements, including some weekend work

Valid Australian work rights required for this position
