About the position

The Director- Industry Programs is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the commercial success and long-term sustainability of the ARM Hub. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position leads the design and delivery of industry programs that generate significant revenue, attract new investment, and strengthen the Hub’s profile as Australia’s leading advanced manufacturing and technology innovation centre.

The role requires a highly strategic and commercially focused leader with proven experience in business development, revenue growth, and large-scale partnership management. The Director will build programs that connect industry, government, and investors, delivering both impact for clients and sustainable growth for the Hub.

The ARM Hub is Australia’s only independent, not-for-profit centre accelerating the digital transformation of Australia’s industrial sector. Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Program Leadership

Oversee national-scale industry programs, ensuring financial sustainability and measurable impact.

Provide thought leadership on industry trends, innovation, and policy settings that influence program design.

Revenue Growth & Business Development

Secure new contracts and sponsorships to monetise ARM Hub programs, services, and IP.

Negotiate major partnership agreements that expand ARM Hub’s reach and financial capacity.

Lead and grow a high-performing team of Industrial Designers, Software Engineers and Program Co-ordinators.

Stakeholder & Partner Development

Build and maintain high-level relationships with C-Suite executives, government leaders, venture investors, and research institutions.

Cultivate networks to position ARM Hub as the partner of choice for advanced manufacturing initiatives.

Team & Culture

Advise and support the CCO on industry engagement, commercial negotiations, and strategic opportunities.

Work closely with Director, AI Adopt Centre and other senior executives to provide client solutions integrated across ARM Hub programs.

Champion the use of digital tools and technology within ARM Hub and the broader industry.

To ensure job flexibility the successful appointee may be required to:

perform any other duties as nominated by the ARM Hub, consistent with the employee’s skillset.

Type of appointment

This appointment will be offered on a full-time basis for 12 months, with potential for the role to become an ongoing position.

Location

The headquarters for ARM Hub is 53 Holland St, Northgate, Brisbane. Intrastate and interstate travel will be required from time to time.

Selection criteria

Extensive senior leadership experience in business development, commercialisation, or executive management within industry, government, or research.

Demonstrated track record of delivering significant revenue growth, securing contracts, and negotiating complex partnerships.

Strong understanding of advanced manufacturing, AI, robotics, and digital transformation sectors.

Proven ability to influence and engage C-Suite executives, government leaders, and investors.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Experience leading teams in high-growth, high-impact environments.

Remuneration and benefits

The position has an annual salary range of $140,000 and $160,000, plus 12% superannuation.
