Full Job Description

A leading specialist civil and geotechnical contracting team is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a project-based role on the Coomera Connector in Brisbane.

The Project Engineer will oversee site activities during mobilisation, construction, operations, and finalisation phases. You will lead the site team to deliver the project safely, on time, on budget, and to quality standards, ensuring construction aligns with design expectations and quality records are maintained to the highest standard.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred)
• Minimum 3–5 years’ engineering experience, including at least 2 years in geotechnical, civil, or specialist construction project roles
• Experience managing 3rd party contracts or assisting a senior Engineer/Project Manager
• Ability to problem-solve and liaise effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities
• Experience managing and motivating teams of supervisors and site staff
• Knowledge of civil and geotechnical concepts, ground improvement, retention & foundation piling, slope stabilisation, shotcrete (including architectural and simulated rock), ground anchoring & rope access works

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide guidance and direction to mobilisation and site teams
• Lead client, contractor, and subcontractor interactions and problem-solving
• Manage Site Supervisors to ensure timely allocation of labour, plant, and equipment
• Issue daily/weekly tasks and productivity schedules in coordination with supervisors
• Maintain positive client relationships and resolve project matters promptly
• Prepare and track project budgets, ensuring accurate cost reporting
• Liaise with Contracts Administrators regarding potential delays or claims
• Maintain updated project management programs for relevant stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Lead and support junior engineers, supervisors, and crews, ensuring KPI achievement and professional growth
