Hotel Manager - Dandenong Ranges Premium Conference & Wedding Venue - Growth Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Hotel Manager to lead the repositioning and growth of our beautifully presented 60-room hotel, nestled in the stunning Dandenong Ranges. This premium venue specialises in hosting groups of up to 124 guests and we are actively repositioning the property to expand our conference facilities and wedding market presence.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced hospitality professional with strong business acumen and entrepreneurial drive, seeking to make their mark in one of Victoria's most picturesque locations. The successful candidate will be comfortable driving growth in our wedding and conferencing operations, with experience in conference and wedding planning being highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic repositioning of the property to capture greater wedding and conference market share
Actively drive growth in wedding bookings and conference business through relationship building and marketing initiatives
Manage all guest relations including inquiries, experiences, check-in/out, and group bookings
Oversee property reservations across all channels
Conduct financial management and property accounting
Compile comprehensive weekly and monthly reports
Participate in weekly management team conference calls
Lead and develop all property staff through recruitment, training, supervision and performance management
Control labour costs and maintain operational efficiency and quality
Maintain exceptional property and room standards through formal quality assurance processes
Coordinate and execute conference and wedding events, ensuring seamless delivery and client satisfaction
Oversee property maintenance and facility upgrades to support repositioning goals
Ensure compliance with company policies and all legal/regulatory requirements
Manage inventory levels to support all operations
Escalate matters to as required
What We're Looking For:
Previous hotel/motel management experience (essential)
Conference and wedding planning experience with proven ability to drive business growth (highly desirable)
Strong customer service focus with ability to handle challenging situations professionally
Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in driving revenue growth and market positioning
Excellent leadership and staff management capabilities
Financial acumen and reporting skills
Ability to work autonomously while being part of a supportive team
High energy levels and commitment to service excellence
