The South Australian Country Fire Service (SACFS) serves communities through dedicated volunteers delivering professional fire and rescue services to outer metropolitan, regional and rural South Australia. The SACFS is an all-hazards agency responding to bushfire, structure fires, road crash rescue and hazardous material spills.

About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated, community minded individual to support our Volunteers in recruitment, retention and the day to day management of our brigades . As a Regional Volunteer Officer, you will be based in the CFS Regional Headquarters in Murray Bridge, but be working directly with Volunteers across the Murraylands, Riverland and Upper South East.

Primary Purpose of Role:

Provide assistance, advice and support to Groups/Brigades with running effective local recruitment activities and programs.

Deliver effective recruitment and retention programs, focusing on volunteer attraction, retention and succession planning.

Provide an initial contact point for Group Officers for advice, support for matters related to the volunteer workforce; including conflict management and resolution, code of conduct and respectful behaviours requirements and effective leadership.

Coordinate the provision of conflict resolution and mediation support services to Groups/Brigades.

Assist in the investigation and reporting of alleged breaches of the SACFS Code of Conduct, Respectful Behaviours and reported interpersonal conflict/discipline issues.

Undertaking of an emergency support or incident management role, via a defined operational' on-call roster, with the potential to be re-called under emergency situations, to enable the provision of emergency service activities by CFS to the community. Whilst undertaking such operational roles, personnel will be required to work in emergency situations, which may include day, afternoon, night, or extended shifts
