About the Role
We are seeking a Case Conferencing Facilitator to join our team at AYDC. This role is central to coordinating and facilitating conferencing processes for young people in custody, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. You’ll support reintegration efforts, contribute to case management systems, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver consistent and effective youth justice services.
What we are Looking For
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Post-graduate experience in a relevant allied health discipline (e.g. psychology, occupational therapy, social work, or similar)
- Proven ability to facilitate structured conferencing or therapeutic interventions with young people and families, particularly in contexts involving behavioural challenges or conflict resolution
- Sound understanding of youth justice legislation, national standards, and trauma-informed practice (or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge)
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including skills in de-escalation, active listening, and collaborative decision-making
- High-level written communication skills for reporting and evaluation.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to contribute to policy and practice development.
- Alignment with the Department’s values and a passion for working with young people to achieve positive outcomes.

Condition of Employment
- Salary $110,425 to $121,907 pro rata per annum + 6.5% corrections allowance
- Classification: Allied Health Professional, Level 3
- Award/ Agreement: Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement
Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.
Essential Requirements
To be eligible, you must have:
- Ability to obtain or already have a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment Status) – Tasmania.
- A tertiary qualification approved by the relevant National Board and eligibility for membership with the relevant National Board or professional association.
