About the role
Tas RIC is a newly created office for the purposes of enforcing the Racing Regulation and Integrity Act 2024 from 1 February 2025.
This role will help strengthen the integrity of racing and animal welfare in Tasmania. In this role you will:
- Prepare clear and concise written advice and recommendations on complex, sensitive, and confidential matters and issues.
- Manage the systems and processes for the collection, collation, analysis of information and/or intelligence and the dissemination of analytical products to targeted audiences.
- Maintain effective partnerships through consultation, engagement, and liaison with Tasracing, government, racing industry stakeholders and external enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Our ideal candidate has
- Specialised knowledge in gathering, analysing, and reporting on intelligence information.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting evidence-based intelligence outcomes and/or recommendations.
- A growth mindset to support the development of new initiatives to meet organisation’s strategic goals.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide authoritative advice on complex matters.
- Experience with using intelligence software such as Comtrac, Veritas, Analysts Notebook or similar.

About us
The Racing Integrity Commission’s Office is tasked with:
- Making integrity and animal welfare Standards in racing and monitoring the regulation and administration of racing.
- Gathering information, holding investigations, conducting inquiries, and issuing recommendations to participants in the racing industry to assure racing integrity and animal welfare meet contemporary community expectations.
- Promoting compliance, facilitating engagement and cooperation in relation to racing integrity and animal welfare.
- Providing advice and an annual report to the Minister for Racing that will be tabled in Parliament.
