Forklift Operator - Scrap Metal Recycling Yard (Minto, NSW)

Our client is one of Australia's leading scrap metal recycling businesses, with their main depot located in Minto, NSW. They are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator who is looking for a casual position with the opportunity to transition to permanent employment for the right candidate

Position Details:

• Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm
• Pay Rate: $34.65 per hour
• Type: Temp to Perm Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery to transport scrap metal within the yard.
• Sort and organise scrap metal by type, size, and quality.
• Safely load and unload trucks and containers.
• Maintain yard cleanliness and organisation of storage areas.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet daily production targets.
• Onsite training provided

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a forklift operator, ideally in a scrap metal recycling or heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to operate different types of forklifts safely and effectively.
• Physically fit with the stamina to handle manual work and outdoor conditions.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety.
• Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work overtime.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• A clear criminal history check
• Two recent work references
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
• Unlimited working rights in Australia
