Job Description: Hot Water Plumber

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hot Water Plumber to join our dynamic team in Australia. Specialising in the repair, maintenance, and installation of standard residential and commercial hot water systems, you will deliver top-notch service to ensure reliable and safe hot water solutions. Your expertise will drive customer satisfaction and compliance with Australian standards in a fast-paced, supportive environment with abundant overtime opportunities. Experience with pipe relining or trenchless technologies is a bonus but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair faults in standard hot water systems, including gas, electric, solar, and heat pump units.

Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and compliance with AS/NZS 3500 standards.

Install, replace, and upgrade hot water systems, ensuring accurate sizing, pipework, and valve configurations.

Provide expert advice to clients on system efficiency, upgrades, and energy-saving options.

Troubleshoot complex issues such as pressure imbalances, leaks, or thermostat failures.

Maintain accurate service records, prepare quotes, and manage inventory for repair parts.

Adhere to Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and ensure safe work practices on all job sites.

Mentor apprentices or junior staff, sharing expertise in hot water system repairs.

Qualifications

Valid Australian plumbing licence (Certificate III in Plumbing or equivalent).

Minimum 3 years’ experience in hot water system repairs for residential and commercial properties.

In-depth knowledge of gas, electric, solar, and heat pump hot water systems.

Familiarity with Australian plumbing codes (AS/NZS 3500) and WHS regulations.

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills; proficiency with tools like multimeters and pressure gauges.

Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation; ability to lift 50+ kg and work in confined spaces.

Bonus: Experience with pipe relining, CIPP, or trenchless repair methods for hot water system integration.

Excellent communication and customer service skills; clean background check.
