Period of Appointment

Fixed-term 1 year from appointment.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties
  • Prepare bail application files including requesting and collating relevant information from the Courts and Tasmania Police.
  • Process data imported from external systems and conduct quality assurance practices including creating new matters and updating hearing information in the practice management system.
  • Reconcile key DPP data sources with the practice management system.
  • Compile, file and vet documents such as indictments, subpoenas, Crown Papers and arrange service on defence counsel and defendant.
  • Undertake a wide range of clerical and administrative duties including data entry, word processing, opening and closing files, binding documents and reception services.

The Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.

• Crimes involving dishonesty

• Malicious damage and destruction to property

• Crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice
• Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power
• Crimes involving Conspiracy

2. Disciplinary action in previous employment.

3. Identification check.

Desirable Requirements
  • Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or Business (Legal Services).
  • Current drivers licence.
