We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Steps to Confident Parenting Coach to join our Family Support team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of parents and children.
About the Role
As a Steps to Confident Parenting Coach, you will:
- Support parents with cognitive and/or intellectual impairments or learning challenges to keep their children safe, healthy, and well cared for.
- Promote parenting confidence and skills through tailored, culturally safe support.
- Work collaboratively with Child and Family Practitioners and partner agencies to address protective concerns and enhance family functioning.
- Use creative coaching techniques such as visual aids, role play, and repetition to deliver consistent and effective messaging.
- Contribute to outcome-focused documentation and data recording in line with Meli’s expectations.
Position Details
- Fixed term position until 30 June2026
- 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $76,372 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We’re Looking For
We value individuals who bring empathy, creativity, and professionalism to their work. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (recent graduates welcome).
- A strong understanding of cognitive and/or intellectual impairments and their impact on parenting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt methods to suit individual learning styles.
- A flexible and collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- A commitment to child safety and inclusive practice.
