Exciting Opportunity: Chef for New Pizza Restaurant in Glenelg South, SA

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Chef to lead and train our kitchen team at a new pizza restaurant opening soon in the sought-after area of Glenelg South.

The restaurant will feature a vibrant New York pizza vibe with interior to match, dining in a 50-seater venue with a large focus on takeaway and self delivery.

This position provides an exciting opportunity to join the business at its inception, contribute to its development, and have the potential to scale along with the company's growth.

Position: Pizza Chef (Short-Term Contract, Minimum 3 Months)

Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

Refine and develop the menu in collaboration with the owners, sourcing suppliers, and making menu recommendations.

Lead the training of a kitchen team in all aspects of pizza preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.

Oversee food prep, maintain quality standards, and ensure consistent delivery of all menu items.

Manage inventory, including maintaining par levels and sourcing suppliers as needed.

Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, hygienically, and in line with food safety standards.

Focus significantly on ensuring takeaway and delivery services are tailored to maximize customer satisfaction, with efficient processes and quality control for these channels.

Support the growth of takeaway and self-promoted delivery sales through high-quality food preparation and customer focus.

Play a key role in shaping and scaling the kitchen operations as the business develops.

Requirements:

Proven experience in pizza making, menu creation, and kitchen management.

Demonstrated ability to train and lead a team.

Industry-standard qualifications for a chef, including food safety certifications.

Excellent communication skills in English.

Eligibility to work in Australia.
