Build the teaching and research profile of Exercise and Sport Science including Exercise Physiology within the Faculty of Health at CDU!

About the Position
As the Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology, you will be responsible for building the teaching and research profile of exercise and sport science including Exercise Physiology within the Faculty of Health. This role will make a significant contribution to the discipline through the development and delivery of high-quality courses, units, and learning activities, through original contributions to high level research and through engagement in and with the profession.

The Senior Lecturer will also engage in relevant discipline and faculty committees and initiatives as required. The Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology will contribute to programs across the Faculty, including the development of new and innovative courses and/or units. This position will be involved in the development and teaching of units, utilising both on-campus and online supported teaching and learning support. The role will engage in scholarly work that informs teaching and learning in diverse educational contexts.

The Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology will develop and disseminate a stream of appropriate research relevant to their area in clinical exercise physiology

About You
To be successful, you will require:

  • A PhD level qualification/s in clinical exercise physiology including original, innovative, and distinguished contributions to research, scholarship and teaching as demonstrated through sustained and distinguished performance at national and international level.
  • Current accreditation with Exercise Sport Science Australia as an exercise physiologist.
  • Significant practice experience in providing clinical exercise physiology services to a variety of clients including persons with multiple chronic conditions.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and collaboratively developing, coordinating, and delivering courses, units within the exercise physiology field responding to the on-line, hybrid, and face to face delivery approach at CDU.
  • Significant experience in supervision of students and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, including an understanding of the importance of contributing to staff meetings, discipline, and university committees.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with well-developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to forge strong collaborative links and contribute to the growth of the profession in the region.
  • Willingness to embrace the knowledge, skills, and ideals of clinical practice in rural and remote areas.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the University values and commitment to the principles of reconciliation, which exemplify respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and the valuing of justice and equity for all Australians.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HE Academic Level C. The base salary will be in the range of $134,128 - $156,967 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $156,929 - $183,651 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
