Join Our Team as a Gym Instructor.

Are you passionate about fitness and love helping others achieve their goals? We're looking for enthusiastic Gym Instructors to join our team at Ivanhoe Aquatic Centre and Olympic Leisure Centre. If you're ready to make a difference and be part of a supportive community, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

You'll join an excellent team culture, with approachable and supportive management in a friendly facility with great members and free access to a state-of-the-art gym and facility.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to the gym patrons and proactively assist them with any fitness program related enquiries.
  • Conduct health and fitness assessments, consultations, program reviews and body scans.
  • Write appropriate workout program using the available platform and demonstrate the exercises safely as well as making necessary modifications.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance log and adhere with all reporting policy and processes.
  • Be present in the gym floor and proactively engage with gym members in between appointments.

What you'll bring/what we are looking for:

  • Certificate III Fitness (cert IV desirable)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A sound knowledge of biomechanical techniques, first aid, resuscitation and public safety requirements.
  • Competent computer skills.
  • A commitment to Banyule Leisure's values and a keen interest in promoting health and fitness of our customers and the wider community.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to perform at a high standard of service provision when dealing with all persons in a consistent, prompt, respectful, positive and professional manner.

What's on offer

  • Permanant part time opportunities salary $67,238.09 - $70,699.31 per annum as an indication if a full-time position ($34.03 to $35.77 per hour)
  • Primary work location Olympic Leisure, and Ivanhoe Aquatic.
  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/2 weeks of paid parental leave - partner
  • Consistency in shifts, working on a permanent part time basis

The following shifts are available:

At Olympic Leisure Centre:

Monday 12:30pm-3:45pm and 3:45pm-8:15pm,

Tuesday 11:30am-3:45pm,

Wednesday 12:15pm-3:45pm,

Thursday 12:15pm-3:45pm,

Friday 12:15pm-3:45pm and 6pm-8:15pm,

Sunday 8:45am-1pm.

At Ivanhoe Aquatic.

Sunday 6:45am-12pm

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Fitness
  • A current registration with Physical Activity Australia or AusActive.
  • A current Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
  • A current C.P.R Certificate.

Pre employment checks:

  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
  • Pre-Employment Medical Check
  • Working with children check
