The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) is a key agency at the very centre of government that provides specialist financial, economic and commercial advice to the Northern Territory Government. The Department has a well-established reputation for providing high quality, expert and specialist policy advice and services, to the Treasurer, Northern Territory Government (NTG), other agencies and the Territory community.

Currently, DTF have several openings in the team for Principal Revenue Analysts (AO7), Senior Revenue Analysts (AO6) and Revenue Analysts (AO5). As part of this selection process all applications will be evaluated against each level and offers of employment will be made based on experience and expertise.

As a Principal Revenue Analyst (AO7), you provide management to one of several small teams, analyse and resolve complex revenue matters, engage with stakeholders on technically complex or sensitive revenue related issues and assist in the development and implementation of the work unit’s business plans, policies and practices.

As a Senior Revenue Analyst (AO6), you handle similar tasks to the Principal Analyst but with a focus on less complex matters. Your role involves participating in stakeholder education programs, ensuring compliance with revenue legislation, and undertaking investigations and financial reviews. In addition, you will monitor, analyse and report on emerging business practices that have potential revenue implications.

As a Revenue Analyst (AO5), undertake tasks including, providing advice to clients on the Territory’s tax and royalty laws and related grants, concessions and incentive schemes, and administer own-source revenue.

To be successful, you require a combination of well-developed conceptual, research and analytical skills, along with highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of legislation and policies, and high degree of integrity and confidentiality is essential.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, economics, accounting or a related discipline and sound knowledge of commercial business structures and transactions, would be highly valued.
