ABOUT THE ROLE
Darumbal Enterprises Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Darumbal Liaison Officer to join our team and be accountable to drive and maximise the Darumbal People and First Nations participation in the Moah Creek Wind Farm, as well as other projects which are related to the Moah Creek Wind Farm where appropriate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement and evaluate a Darumbal People / First Nations Participation Strategy and Process to facilitate and maximise contracting and capacity building opportunities for Darumbal People and First Nations businesses and community members.
Monitor and report against financial and contracting opportunities as set out in the Participation Strategy.
Assess existing capacity and capabilities of local businesses and community to work on the Project and identify opportunities to build capacity where required.
Participate in meetings with key stakeholders, management committee, Project Team.
Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with Darumbal People / First Nations businesses and key stakeholders to support effective communication, coordination and information exchange between parties.
Liaise with contactors to provide support and maintain oversight of performance, identify and manage risks and develop strategies to improve outcomes for all parties.
Manage logistics and coordinate attendance at key events, projects, and initiatives.
Communication with key stakeholders and community members as required to answer requests for information.
Analyse past projects to identify risks to avoid and recommend improvements to increase participation and positive outcomes.
Support the implementation of the CHIMA and ILUA for the Moah Creek Wind Farm.
Participate, with Project representatives, in meetings with key stakeholders.
Acting as a role model to encourage the avoidance of risk-taking behaviours across the business and provide the personal commitment to “don’t risk it’.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated experience in a similar liaison or community engagement role, preferably within the indigenous or multicultural services sector
Strong understanding of the local Rockhampton community and the unique needs of indigenous and culturally diverse populations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Proven project management and event coordination skills
Proficiency in data collection, analysis and report writing
Formal education in communications, journalism, business, public relations, project management or relevant field.
Proficient Microsoft Office suite
Proficient English language skills
