Aboriginal Family Support Services (AFSS) is a lead, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that has been providing services to Aboriginal families and communities across South Australia for over 40 years.
Base salary of $88,109.84 plus shift penalties and this is a shift work position
The Team leader is responsible to enhance and ensure the delivery of culturally responsive, therapeutically informed programs and services that facilitate the healthy development and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people who are unable to live with their family or be placed with a foster family. Coordinate the delivery of high-quality service delivery provides genuine and positive outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people in the residential home care service. Ensure the service is operated in accordance with service and quality standards, DCP Agreements, organisational policies and procedures, and accepted standards of practice. Provide ongoing support, supervision, performance management, learning and development of team members in this service.
Who we are looking for
- The incumbent will ensure that Youth Support Workers facilitate the development of social and living skills of Aboriginal children and young people within a culturally responsive, therapeutically informed environment.
- The incumbent will be expected to mentor and support Youth Support Workers to assess and respond to the individual needs of Aboriginal children and young people.
- The incumbent will facilitate and assist Youth Support Workers to maintain an ongoing commitment and improvement to professional development and review of services.
- The incumbent will be expected to guide Youth Support Workers in their attention to and completion of administrative tasks including data reporting and the use of AFSS processes and tools to manage workloads and priorities.
- The incumbent will be expected to provide supervision, guidance and mentoring to Youth Support Workers to maintain an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement in the provision of services to internal and external stakeholders.
- The incumbent will be expected to follow the AFSS procedures regarding supervision of team members to align organisational and individual objectives, within a framework that supports development and assists the organisation to achieve outcomes against key performance Indicators KPIs.
To be successful you will need
- Valid and full South Australian Drivers Licence
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People Certificate
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
- National Police Check
- As suitable via Psychological Suitability Assessment
- First Aid Certificate (HLATAID003/HLTAID011/HLTAID012)
- Infant safety Training Certificate
- Fire Safety Training Certificate.
- Unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia
- A minimum of a Certificate IV in Community Services/Youth Work or equivalent, or currently studying, knowledge and competencies. OR a higher qualification in an appropriate social science discipline such as Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Community Services, Youth Services, and related fields.
