Who we are - AAC Speech Solutions is an NDIS registered Speech Pathology clinic on the Sunshine Coast in sunny Queensland, which specializes in supporting people who have disabilities with multi modal communication needs. It is a long term established practice, that requires the services of another Speech Pathologist. The practice works in a multi-disciplinary team arrangement onsite with physiotherapists, OTs, AHAs, orthotists, and other SLPs.
What we do - We are seeking a dynamic, friendly, and energetic person to form effective client and team relationships. The person will work with children and adults of all ages, with a focus on multi-modal communication (including AAC). Our clients have NDIS funding support and have a range of disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, developmental delay, ABI, progressive neurological and other medical conditions. The role is extremely rewarding through the diverse range of interventions offered. Relationships developed with the clients and their families help to make a real difference with the outcomes in their lives.
Our clinicians work within established best practice frameworks such as child/family centred practice, multidisciplinary practice, the developmental model, the Participation Model for AAC, and the ICF.
Who are we looking for - this Early Career Position is for a graduate, recent graduate, or an experienced therapist looking for a new or meaningful professional direction. You will be provided with the intensity of support required to develop their skills in a supportive, safe, and motivating environment. As we are looking for the right person, FULL TIME or PART TIME applicants will be considered.
About you - The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and current registration/eligibility for membership with SPA
A strong interest and passion for AAC and client-centred practice
Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development
Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative approach to service delivery
Candidates currently studying in their final year of Speech Pathology are welcome to apply for this position.

support and supervision - formal and informal supervision will be available at all times. The clinical director Darren is former Chairperson of AGOSCI Australia, and a current casual tutor for ACU speech pathology course; whilst the rest of the team brings a wealth of other experiences.
AAC resources - we have hundreds, at your fingertips, and include ipads, eye gaze devices, PODDs, and Boardmaker.
PD suitable for the needs of the practitioner.

Remuneration is commensurate with the QLD Health HPDO4 Health Practitioners stream.
