- Assist in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all persons at our sites - ensure appropriate staffing is in place to maintain vigilant supervision of all areas at all times.
- Ensure all staff members demonstrate a high standard of service provision and interact with customers and other staff members in a consistent, prompt, respectful, positive, and professional manner.
- Ensure that a focus on the safety and enjoyment of all customers is demonstrated by all staff.
- Actively demonstrate the development and maintaining of a professional and friendly relationship with all customers and program participants whilst always encouraging general staff to do so the same.

What you'll bring/what we are looking for:
- A tertiary qualification and/or previous experience in the leisure/aquatics facility industry including pool plant experience is required for the position.
- Sound knowledge of public safety requirements, RLSSA Guidelines for Safe Pool Operation (GSPO), first aid, resuscitation, and rescue techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and supervise staff.
- Ability to communicate breaches of conduct to relevant supervisor.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
What's on offer
- Permanent part time opportunities salary $71,285.28 - $75,523.62 per annum as an indication if a full-time position ($36.07 to $38.22 per hour).
- Primary work location Olympic Leisure Centre, and Ivanhoe Aquatic.
- 18 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/2 weeks of paid parental leave - partner
- Consistency in shifts, working on a permanent part time basis

The following shifts are available:
Olympic Leisure
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12.15pm to 3.15pm
Ivanhoe Aquatic
- Saturday - 6.30am-11.00am (alternating weeks)

Mandatory Qualifications:
- Level 2 First Aid (Apply First Aid).
- Pool Lifeguard (PLG).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Aquatic Technical operator certificate (highly desirable)
Pre employment checks:
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
- Pre-Employment Medical Check
- Working with children check

About Banyule City Council
Banyule is less than 30 minutes travelling time from the CBD and it has an excellent public transport network with the Melbourne-Hurstbridge Railway Line running through it.
