We’re currently seeking an experienced Diamond Driller to join our growing field operations team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of diamond drilling rigs across remote exploration sites in Australia. Your duties will include overseeing rig setup, executing drilling programs to target depth and quality, maintaining equipment, and ensuring strict compliance with safety and environmental standards. This is a hands-on role requiring technical skill, problem-solving, and a strong focus on operational excellence. About the role

This is a FIFO position on a 20/10 roster. We are seeking a skilled Diamond Driller with Chuck Drive rig experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading safe, efficient, and productive drilling operations, contributing directly to the discovery of critical mineral deposits essential for the renewable energy transition.

Equipment:

We operate a fleet of modern drill rigs, including Atlas Copco CS14, Sandvik, and Boart Longyear models. You’ll also be working with proprietary hardware designed to help you operate more efficiently and safely with a strong focus on speed, organisation, and minimal manual handling.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain diamond drill rigs, including Chuck Drive rigs, in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.

Set up and dismantle drilling equipment at remote exploration sites.

Ensure safe, efficient, and productive drilling operations to meet program targets and core recovery requirements.

Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of drill rigs and support equipment to minimise downtime.

Accurately complete daily drilling reports, logs, and safety documentation.

Work closely with offsiders and field crew to ensure smooth and coordinated drilling activities.

Monitor and manage consumables and stock levels, ensuring adequate supply for uninterrupted operations.

Apply strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills to identify and resolve issues in the field.

Adhere to all site-specific safety, environmental, and operational protocols.

Assist in training and mentoring less experienced crew members where appropriate.

Support the discovery and sampling of core for critical mineral exploration projects.

Skills and experience:

A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Diamond Driller, including at least 2 years operating Chuck Drive rigs.

Experience working with a variety of drill rigs, including Atlas Copco CS14, Sandvik, and Boart Longyear models.

A current HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in remote field environments.

Solid understanding of drilling operations, safety standards, and remote field logistics.

Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate daily drilling records and reports.

Proficiency in stock and consumable management, ensuring equipment and supplies are well-maintained and organised.

A proactive attitude and ability to work collaboratively within a small, high-performing team.

Comfort working in remote, physically demanding environments on a FIFO 20:10 roster.
